How can I tell the difference? I am interested in a pair.I have many complete sets in stock. If you are just looking for a pair, which style do you have, early or late.
What is the difference in styles?

The late comp 885's and my new TBP885's have a circlip with 4 legs and provision for snap ring pliers. See picture. The metering was revised for higher spring pressures and RPM. The new clip and seat design help prevent damage to the lifter from end user setting preload too loose. The early style used a round circlip similar to one in second picture. How can I tell the difference? I am interested in a pair.

What 853 do you have? My lifter will be able to handle higher spring pressures on the seat and open. They act close to a solid at higher RPM. Most other lifters just bleed down or collapse above 4000 rpm with higher spring pressures. If you are running higher spring pressure which is needed, upgrading will be a good idea. I would say anything over 390# open and 150# on the seat would be a good starting point for this lifter.Dave, I've got the comp rollers 853. And looking to possibly up grade maybe to your new lifters . What would be the benefit?
