Okay here is what I am running. I need to purchase a new S/L intercooler, te44, mease dp, 42.5 lb injectors. I want to know if this would be to much cam for my combo. I do plan on upgrading the convertor to match the combo. Do you guys have any suggestions, or anyone that has run this cam. I would love any input you may have. thanx Jason

camshaft selection

doesn't anyone have anything to say about cam selection. I would like anyfeedback I can get before I purchase one. thanx jason

Unless you are doing heads at the same time or you have a cam problem it is a waste to tear it down for a cam

I agree with Mike. I would not tear it down to swap the cam unless you are building a good short-block and adding ported heads.

That being said we went 11.40's @ 120-mph a few weeks ago with a similar combo. to what you mention, except with a Te61. (stock cam, etc.)

212/212 cam

well the thought process behind the cam was I want to freshen the motor, and put in new timing chain, and springs ...etc. I thought if I was going that far I might consider installing a new cam. I must confess, I am recently departed from the 5.0 crowd, and the turbo stuff is new to me. I purchased this car from my uncle (original owner) and it has 78k on the motor. It has been very well maintained, but My uncle was old school (leaner in meaner) thought process. He ran the car with w/o the knock sensor hooked up, and almost all the upgrades on the car are kenne bell. He lived close to jim bell and he guided my uncle through the build back in 1989. I just want to bring the car up to speed with some more recent tech, and I really want to achieve a solid realable mid 11 to high 11 sec car. I just need any help possible, as I said I come

I would not add a cam with those mods. As a matter of fact, I run a te60, 50 msds v4r IC 3000 convertor on an all stock engine except valve springs and head gaskets. 11.56 on 21 lbs of boost. I had to run ET streets just to keep from blowing the tires off. MT DR's for that car soon. I was running 11.90's with the same setup you have but stock engine. These turbo cars do not need huge cam. I would keep stock if I can, I have not seen enough gain to change the cam. Now add ported heads, big turbo and even some headers, then add a cam. It is really fun to see peoples faces when they ask what is done and you say V6 with bolt ons after going 11.90's on pump gas and alky.

Read my sig. thats a flat tappet 212/212 in my daily summer driver. Idles like a stock cam. Beautiful driveability.
