Very little difference. What were your goals?
Ok...what are the differences? I have no goals, just curious as to what details about them are different.
If you have a BR vb on hand ill ship you a TA vb (you pay shipping both ways)and you can compare every part of the TA vb to the BR. Both use the same governor and shift at nearly the same rpms at the same throttle angles. There are some slight differences internally but not anything i want to go into detail about since it will take longer to post pics and describe it than to just mail it to you. There are 3 different BR vb's that have slight differences between them. There is one more that has a lot of differences. Its the BR code out of an 83 T-Type. Has an odd ball governor too .

I don thave any feedback on it. I pulled it out of an 83 regal ttype about 13 years ago. Its still on the shelf. I noticed it has a smaller TV and sleeve. The governor is different than any i have seenGotta ask bison, is the 83 any better or worse than the rest? It's what I've got right now to work with. Do they hold up and are the parts a problem to deal with?![]()
No need to compare them in person, I'm just wondering if anyone could throw out some basic differences without getting too technical. Are these "slight differences internally" good or bad in your opinion?
Back in 89, I remember something about the TTA having a "garage package" in the valve body to reduce tire chirping when the car was placed in gear (mainly reverse?).
Was this a further mod to the VB or did GM add an aux. VB?
why would a GN or TTA chirp the tires just puttin it in gear ??? TTA had a "performance" shift kit for positive shifts(dealer bitched at my wife because the car shifted to firm to them when she brought it in for service
) Nothing about a "garage package"
Yeah. Nothing at all to do with the vb.The so called "garage shift package" was confined to different forward input drum, aluminum forward piston. the feed hole in drum shaft is larger and has NO bleed checkball, aluminum piston had the bleed hole.
As far as I know there were no differences in VB or plate.
Mixing parts can give a delayed forward engagement or a dragging forward clutch when in park or neutral.
Kevin.

I do know for fact that the TTA's and the TR's have two different part numbers for the valve body sep plates....can't confirm or deny that there is any physical difference though. The TTA plates have a "TA" stamped on them. I have a set of both in the shop, when I have time I'll hold them up to one another and compare.
