i am in process of purchasing a built motor and transmission less the computer and converter and have no idea of whats in motor how do I decide on what to have done to computer and which stall converter to purchase trying to get origanal computer and converter but maynot be able to

The computers are easy to come by. Just about any 86' GM front wheel drive car with the 3.8 V6 will have the correct "148" computer. As far as chip and converter that will mostly depend on what turbo and cam the motor has in it.
