 I  Ordered a new Walbro kit from Racetronix (first time buying from them) and got the following in an e-mail reply:

"Thank you for your online purchase with Racetronix. This e-mail
confirms that your online payment has been received by the Racetronix e-mail
server.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US ASKING FOR STATUS REPORTS OR TO PRIORITIZE YOUR
ORDER. E-MAILS TAKE TIME AWAY FROM GETTING YOUR ORDER OUT TO YOU
SOONER. ALL ORDERS WILL BE PROCESSED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY ARE RECEIVED
ONLY!"

This seems a little "in your face". They thank me for paying them and then tell me in capital letters not to bother them with questions about the order status. It wouldn't be so bad if they gave me some idea of when it would ship, but nothing at all about when I can expect delivery.

Is this a bad sign, or do they just lack social skills?

Possibly the latter ;)

I , and many others, have ordered from Racetronix and gotten generally prompt delivery of products. The product quality, eg wire harnesses, is top-notch. If you do a search, you'll also see the owner (Jack?) is a frequent and helpful contributor to the forum.

It does seem a little harsh. But I ordered from them twice without any issues. Don't be worried. They have been around for a long time.

Thanks for the reassuring comments. Maybe their email server was just having a bad day.

I would give them 2 thumbs up, if I wasnt so darn busy. They are hard to get a hold of on the phone, but send them an email and get pretty quick replies.

If you knew Jack, you could hear those words coming out of his mouth.

Dont sweat it.. Jack is okay, just a little rough around the edges.

He probably got 100's of emails a day asking about orders..if he were to answer them all he would never get anything shipped..he'd be in front of the computer all day replying to emails. He could hire some help and then his prices would go up.... It's a never ending battle in that type of business. Every Customer is an import one, and every shipment is an important one so he probably does not want to hear how one persons emergency to get a pump should delay someone elses order that was placed eariler... I can totally understand as email does nothing for me but slow my productivity when I have a deadline and need to get things done fast.

Amen on the e-mails. I guess now I understand. We used to have plain old U.S. Mail. Now we have to deal with regular mail, voice mail and e-mail. All this technology keeps us from getting anything done. I don't hardly have time to look at this message board while I'm at work.

Let me give you my take on Jack....

He's a VERY straight shooter. If he says something he means it and will stick to it.

I like dealing with people like him ... you know where you're at all the time. No *****footing or beating around the bush. He'a a businessman that's totally honest and straight forward....hence his honest email to you.

I didn't mean to imply any dishonesty on Racetronix part.

I'm a cautious person by nature, and have had a few bad internet purchase experiences. This is the first time I've dealt with Racetronix, and was concerned because I first got an e-mail confirming PayPal payment and including the language telling me not to check on the status on Sunday 4-22.

I then got a second identical e-mail again on Wednesday 4-25. I was concerned that maybe there was a duplicate payment, or that the order was processed twice. I checked PayPal to be sure the payment wasn't made twice. I would have felt better if I had the option to also check on the status of the order with Racetronix, so I asked around a little to see if this was unusual.

Having said all that, I got a shipping confirmation by e-mail last night, so it looks like all is on track. Sorry to cause any heartburn, but I had a bit myself. It's great to hear the positive comments from members about Racetronix. The same can't be said for everyone you deal with these days.
