Maybe someone can help me. My car is at the mechanics shop, so I cannot reference it. What actually holds the turbo down? I know there is a smaller bracket with slotted bolt holes that bolts towards the bottom right hand side of the turbo on the center of the block. Is there a larger bracket on the pass side of the manifold that holds the turbo assmbly also? After installing my new exhaust, they are having troubles with the turbo moving upwards and creating vaccuum leak. I don't know exactly which bracket that my mechanic is looking for, but they say its discontinued from GM (obviously). Hoping that someone might have an idea whats up. I would really like to get my car going! Thanks

The turbo bolts(lays) into heater hose heat shield. There are only 3 bolts holing it in place. Two on the passenger side, 1 right in back of the intake. You can get a good view from it if you look passed the TB downward a bit. You need to "tap" the turbo down into intake. Not hard just until the intake adaptor(turbo to intake) seal goes in the intake inlet. I believe this is why the turbo is coming out. It might not but pushed all the way in. Just tell them to Tapp in with a Mallet and use a cushion of some kind.

As for the bracket, the turbo should have it on there unless it was taken off. only 1 bracket on the turbo.

Tip, the turbo inlet adator moves a bit, if at the wrong angle it won't drop into place, you can(turbo in car) Use a flat head to tap in at the right angle a bit. Again use a cloth or something so it won't chip the adaptor. You just put the flat head's tip on the lip of the adaptor, Right behind the turbo (look down) tap it a bit. This is only if it's at the wrong angle. Then Tap it down into place with a mallet.

Hope this helps.

Tell them to use vaseline on the o-rings...

They need to lube the o-rings up and push the adapter in further. If that doesnt work tell them to stop letting women work on your car and have a man push that thing down in there. They are kinda stubborn sometimes. And the fuel rail also interferes with things sometimes as well.

There are two bolts on the passenger side(turbo bracket) and then one bolt on the driver side of the turbo right behind the TB as mentioned above.

Passenger side pic... this is my customized turbo bracket. Makes it easier to get the drain in the intake with this modification done.

In my opinion, go get your car and have fun wrenching on it yourself. That's the only way to learn your way around the car.

Good luck
