Just a quick note to everyone that after months and months of looking, fellow TB.com board member BGN8711 aka Brian finally "re"-realized his dream of TR ownership effective last night. As some of you might recall, Brian was the former owner of a beautiful '86 Chestnut T with gold/chestnut interior, and after just 4 months someone unlawfully relieved him of ownership of it despite the car having been alarmed, etc. Brian had saved his money for years and put quite a but of work into that car, and I'll always remember that dark day when he called to tell me his chestnut T had been stolen that afternoon. Unfortunately, our hopes that the perp might inadvertently blow the car up and end up by the side of the freeway were never realized, and the vehicle was never recovered. During his quest for a replacement TR, Brian and I went on a number of TR fact-finding missions, including one memorable 3 AM high-speed banzai run up to Solvang on just two hours sleep.
Last night that all changed, as Brian and his lovely GF Lusha picked up his beautiful white unmolested '87 Limited from south OC and drove it to its new home. Brian and Lusha stopped by our house to show it off to my wife and son, then headed off to pick up his mom and after that to his grandparents house. I'm sure Gary will recognize it as it is his old car from a few years ago, and it still rides and drives beautifully. This is a car I would have purchased years ago, but after seeing how happy and excited Brian was last night, it couldn't have gone to a better home. Congrats, dude!
