Guys this one is hard, not knowing what the hack did befor I got the car, there are plenty of things not right in the wiring.

1 of the biggest problems is there is a drain on the battery.

If I shut the car off, the battery is at 12.4 volts, then it drains down to about 11.36 volts over night, slowly.

- I do not have any amps or crap like that.
- I removed the aftermarket security box and unpluged the wires that went to it, car still starts anyways

- There are no interior lights on
- doors/trunk are shut tite

- Radio off.

Maybe I have a bad battery?

Guys who have experianced stuff like this, what have you found. I know every problem is different, but give me a clue as to where to start looking.

Every time I start the car, I have to jump it with my battery box.

That blows.

Take The Negative Battery Cable Off The Battery With Everything Off Inside And Out Of The Car Put A Test Light Inline From Battery Terminal To Battery Cable See If The Light Turns On If So You Have A Short Or Drain Somewere Start By Pulling Fusses From Fuse Panel Until The Light Goes Off When It Does Narrow The Search Down From There This Info Should Get You Going In The Right Direction Dont Forget Close The Door The Light Will Come On And Mess Up The Trouble Shooting..

Here's a quick visual check. Does your car still have the factory radio? If so, is the time still displayed when you shut off the engine and pull out the key. Mine goes blank. If someone elses is different please correct me if I'm wrong. Just trying to help........

Aftermarket radio.

With or without the radio in, she still drains.

I have now disconnected the "alarm box".

She still drains.

I think it may be a bad battery not holding charge???????????

I will unhook the battery all together and see if she holds a charge over night and report my findings.

Is there any relays or any crap like besides lights that could actually pull a charge without the car on?

This one has got to take the cake.

Just for giggles. Pull the trunk light bulb out. This was (still is) my source of battery drain. I don't need the light, so I leave it out.

Did you get anywhere with this problem? I'm now having the same issue. Battery goes completely dead after about 30 minutes so there has to be quite a load draining it from somewhere. Any advice? I guess i'll have to try and narrow it down circuit by circuit.

if u have a digital multi meter set it on the 10Amp circuit, remove the negative battery terminal, connect one end to battery neg. and other the neg. cable. this will allow u to see if u have a parsitic draw on ur battery.

before u connect the multimeter under the hood roll ur window down for later and remove the underhood bulb or unplug it, if not u will be getting amperage from it being on, or pop ur multimeter fuse. DO NOT OPEN DOORS, TRUNK, GLOVEBOX, or anything to cause amperage!

now if u do have a draw registering on the battery and it is greater than about .030 amps u have two options on getting to the fuse box under the dash. nascar style it through the previously rolled down window and slip under the dash or before u hook the meter up tape the interior light switch down that the door contacts. once in start pulling fuses one by one and if the draw goes away u now know where to look to find ur draw!

This is alot of typing but actually doing this is pretty simple!

if you ....

haven't had the batt. tested yet, you can always take it to a parts place like advance auto, they normally check it for free. Just make sure they do the load test as well.

I found it.....It was the large fan relay on the drivers side firewall.

Anybody know where I can get a replacement, or is there a better solution?

That seems to be the most common source of battery drain. I have duel fans so i just unplug mine and forget about it, don't need it anyway. Typically you can tell when the relay starts making a clicking noise which indicates that it's going South.
