I've done a 700r4, 4l80e and a 4t65e too. I'm doing a 6l80 this winter.

I'm not a master of any of them.
Doing them and getting them done are very different in my book
And paying the labor rate when the builder screws it up adds up

"ya, but"

I cant help myself. I'm kinda one of the OLD guys these days.

Here is a big thanx to any and all responses. I'm just glad we still have a small group that has deep interest in these cars.

The problem is it always turns into a testosterone fueled shit show. …and those who I know in person here wonder why I disappear for years at a time.

Well... we are males here so that testosterone is an integral part of this demographic. It is the interwebz so much could be discounted as a failure to communicate. I say we are pretty much ALL car guys and we each have a different skill set so ignoring some of the over the top crap is advised. Just like a bar or club, you really shouldn't "swing" on every goofball who comes out of the wood work. Most wont last long and the ones who do really are worth listening to no matter how abrasive their demeanor. They are the ones who KNOW "what time it is" as one of my old mentors used to tell me. It is a lot to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I know nothing . Keep dropping the pan an changeing stuff. After my first Art Carr shift kit in 86 I became a pro !! Drop the pan.. Rip the trans out again. WTF is that noise ?? Out it comes again. I call these lessons in life in the transmission (can't use the word "tranny" anymore with it's double meaning) world.

I had the same problem with mine, It would never downshift back to first gear when I stopped, I would always have to move the shifter to first then back to drive to get it to start in first gear. It never shifted right from day 1. Had to get the trans rebuilt all over again.
