hey guys im sure some of y'all heard about my headgasket mishap.

well i was thinkin that since i did save the money for the Spearco kit, that i might as well buy it and install it while i put it back together.

SO my hot-aired regal did have the poston headers and crosspipe on it.

and i do remember reading alot of posts saying that headers may actually cause you to loose some power or they do not benefit your car unless you have a 10 or low 11 second car , when it is intercooled.

SO my question is, if i put this together with the spearco should i go back to the stocker manifolds and sell the aftermarket headers?

i know some of you guys did the intercooled conversion, which one did you all go for? which one worked better for you?

thanx for your comments in advance

Maybe get a hold of this guy in this post and see when he will have his kit available.............I am not sure if he is making the whole trottle body relocation kit or just a intercooler kit. But, here is the link, just in case you havent been over to GNTTYPE.ORG lately:

I had the spearco on my car before....click my link for pics....awesome intercooler. I wish I would have gotten to the track with it, so I could have posted some numbers with it.

Keep you aftermarket headers. On the intercooled cars the passenger side header and crossover are better than ours from the factory and a 1/10 second gain from aftermarket headers is not worth $800. Ours, however to benefit from headers and a better crossover. Only the Hookers from what I know can hurt your spoolup.

The Spearco setup is great, I just wish they relocated the TB with the setup. It's easy to do yourself, though. WFO seemed to have no issues with drivability when used with the Max Effort chip, something to think about.

as of right now i have a T33c, v-1 intake with #36 injectors

if i was to upgrade to a Spearco kitt, would be wise for me to upgrade to 50s whilke the intake is on the work bench?? what would ya suggest ( injector wise) ?

Honestly i dunno if the 36ers flow enough for my setup right now?
any opinion on that, as well?

also, how are the 50s?? . nice idol?
the 36ers are very nice

PS
Project : Blown headgasket is under way and moving along slowly
boy this job is alot easier the 2nd time around,
I stay in michigan and it is 50 out right now
so i guess i didnt miss any good driving weather lol:o

ok now u guys got me wondering so ur sayin that buying the after market headers from poston would not be a good idea for me that my t-type is all stock?they wouldnt do me any good now?

Stock headers flow enough air as it is!! Dont need aftermarket headers until you are going way fast!

That's true of the 86-87 cars. On ours headers/crossover/uppipe/downpipe would benefit a bone stock car and even more on a modified one. Only the driver's side header is the same between all 4 years.

Well, my bad........Never knew that........just assumed that our headers were just as good as the 86/87's. How much more torque/horses will a set of headers add, ya think?

All I know is that our passenger side header is like a log with pegs welded too far into it ;) Looks like they hurried so much that they left too much inside of where the primaries go into the "log"

Kenne-Bell claims 50hp with his header setup which is about the best on the market for the hotairs. I personally really like the dual stage setup.

50 horse power wow i want some lol and i haad no idea its a dual stage set up what does that mean ? or what is that compares to the ones we have now or postons? and where can i get these headers ?

50hp is a claim, it's kind of hard to believe on a stocker but I actually believe it due to what I've seen. I had two friends, one with stock headers/DP, etc, but he had an intercooler. The other friend had the KB header system, no intercooler. Running at the same boost level, the non intercooled car would run the intercooled one down right at the finish so they are worth some serious power.

Dual stage is where the crossover merges in right at the uppipe. It goes beside the passenger side header, and joins it after the primaries. It makes for less backpressure and doesn't hurt spool.
