From my track slips I have around 21% slippage. How much power am I losing? Going to get another converter from Dusty. Really just wondered how much I was losing before I change converters.

I had a converter that slipped 22-25% 3500 stall and in a th400. Switched to a 9.5 PTC from Dusty and back to the 200 and went down to 6-7% and gained 5mph on the big end. Trap rpm came down like 600 rpm and would drop 1000 rpm on the shifts. It never ET'd better or 60ft better than the other converter. That could be part of the mph gain. I did run the same boost and timing too. I was told it would be better with a transbrake. I didn't have one so I can't say what the outcome of that would of been.

Id guess about 4 mph but the most et gain will come in the 330' if you can leave just right. Keep in mind you will hit high gear at a later distance. So you will have more use of 1st and second if you can leave hard. If you have 21% slip your trans must be hot as hell after you run it.

I had good cool down times but I must agree with Bison. Bet she was hot. I never got but one full pass. Boost issues and high rpm caused early shut down which I guess was a blessing. Even with say a 5mph gain I'm still too slow. I would be trapping out at around 120mph. I was thinking of running out the big end at at least 125mph on a milder tune. I had decent 60 footers. 1.5
