350

I just changed mine to 350 turbo trans, and i'm happy with the change. i might not be able to cruise at 70 mph but i dont do much highway driving anyways. I'm not saying that the 200r4 is a bad trans but mine has been in the car for 9 years.

well Buicks are weird cars (and so aren't their owners :p ) .. can go like hell and be driven everyday as a driver  Little different performance from a Buick to a MC  driving down the highway @ 2700  dammmm

i'M NOT AGAINST LEARNING NEW theories. Can any one explain (without being a jerk)?
what torque/H.P. are you guys making?
whats the most common rear gear you guys run??

I was thinking about adding a TR to the family, so if they are that different i need to learn.

Every N/A car i've ever owned always benefited from steeper gears.
and they were cars that made decent torque 500+

Most people run the stock 3.42 gears. Some have switched to 3.73 and saw no gain unless they needed the rpm or were running a taller tire.

Even a mild V6 will make 500 ft lb but at a low rpm. They are low rpm motors. Most builds will shift below 6000 with most of them shifting at 5800 or less when using the 200r4. The n/a V8 cars need the rpm to make power, the V6 doesn't.

well my daughter has a GN (loaded with ac and all the power options)she races and drives in the summer. By driving I am saying 200/300 miles just on the weekends .. Car is a blast to drive .. 342s with 275/60/15 M/T drag radials .. dunno the hp and torque but her best was a 9.94 @ 138+ in street trim and pump gas/alky.. Oh weighs in @ 3661.. Like I said these cars are a little different than the "normal" cars of the time  oh she still has a 200R4  we do way to much street/highway driving to go to a 350/400..

tons of street driving here with a th350 in the car and no complaints got tired of having 200r4 problems and made the switch a couple years ago..

I spent the money on a really good unit, and I've had no problems with 2+ years of driving and beating on it. And my motor makes some good power.
