Installing a TA49,found new w/g pod to have only one vaccum port, where does this connect to ?? Also has a brass 90 degree elbow on the outlet side of turbo, where does this hook up to ?? Looked at vaccum pics off of turbo buick tech pages, didnt make much sense, very hard to follow the diagrams,, anybody have info on this ??? any and all well be very helpful-----Jack

I'm going from memory and the last time I had the stock style actuator was in highschool 8 years ago so it's pretty fuzzy. I think one line comes from the vacuum block on the TB and goes to the wastegate. That one gets plugged off. The other one, should be coming from the "Y" goes to the wastegate.

From the brass elbow, it should go into your "Y" and split off with one going to the wastegate solenoid and one going to the wastegate. I believe the restrictor in the Y goes toward the wastegate line. Again, this is all off of memory because I haven't used the stock style setup in a long time.

vaccum lines hook up

COOL84-------thanks for the help,I`ll try that out today and see if it works---finally got TB relocated and all hooked up,REAL close to the wiper motor arm,,hope nothing moves too far over after running engine for a while, then I`ll be in the clear,,going to hook up rest of spearco today,,gettin real close to a startup !!-------------------Jack

Turbojack...>What did you need to do to the TA49 to fit into the hot air? Did an adapter have to be modified at all? I know the compressor has to be reclocked, but what else? Thanks a bunch!

TA49 and vaccum pod/lines and W.G. port(s)

racemybuick----I Installed a TA49on my hot air, along with a spearco IC,my old WG had two vaccum ports, the WG that came on the TA49 has only one vaccum port. The Insructions that came with the spearco kit shows how to run the vaccum lines,BUT,for a dual port WG,mine only has one port. The 2nd port on the "dual"goes to the vaccum pod on top of the TB,which is "manifold vaccum",guess I`ll eliminate that one and hook up the other one using the spearco diagram,OR ,I could call spearco and ask how to hook up to a single port WG----the brass elbow that comes off the turbo is connected to the fuel pressure reg, according to spearco diagram--had to re-clock TA49 to fit spearco IC,but if not using spearco IC, better get the intake adaptor (its much easier to connect to ) then run some pipe from that adaptor ,around towards the front of car,to hook up to the re clocked turbo (re clocked so that turbo outlet points toward radiator) ,ya see youd make a "loop" to connect the two---hope that makes sense to ya-----Jack

ooohh...I see...You are one of those inercooler guys...lol. I dont have an intercooler. I was just dropping hte tubo in the stock location as the original turbo. Oh well...I hope you solve that vacuum problem!!
