That's a real piece of art. Hang that on your wall. :wacky:

by the way the tag on that trans is pink.....but it says 87......any other ideas on what the color means besides year?

Wow, that snout is something else. I am budget but welding that wouldnt even cross my mind.

UPDATE:
got the trans rebuilt, tranns guy said pump was bad, tranny had been beat on pretty hard.put the pro-torque convertor back on and it still rubbed against the pump housing.but we had fluid pumping this time.
went ahead and installed.went into gear and shifted!havent drove it but around the parking lot once.turbo drain line leaking, pulled back off and found crack in it.
here we go on to the next thing, but getting their.thanks for the replys!

With the clearance correct between the flex plate and convertor it still rubbed? mine was close with the balloon plates and outside modded convertor cover (housing) but I could still slide it back a 1/8" to clear the pump ?

"put the pro-torque convertor back on and it still rubbed against the pump housing.but we had fluid pumping this time."

I guess that beats fixing the issue, to begin with??

yeah, when i first did it, it pulled away from the cover to the flexplate about 1/16 and it didnt rub anymore.thats why i thought something was wrong, especially when it didnt move.
this time it went on the same way but we had pump action.so i guess some of these protorques rub a bit, until pulled forward.
