I live in North Miss where winters are not that bad but gets very hot in the summers . All my life I have been told to run . 5 antifreeze and . 5 water year round . I read something about running distilled only and adding RMI - 25 with it to help in cleaning and cooling . I always thought you had to rub some type of anti freeze year round . Please educate me and Thanks Keith

Water freezes at 32 degrees F, so if you're above that threshold in Northern Miss you can run just RMI-25 and water. If under 32 then you need to add a little antifreeze.

I never run more than 20% antifreeze solution. The coolant works better the closer it is to actual water.

Since I'm in GA (and my A/C doesn't work) the antifreeze is mainly for corrosion resistance and water pump lube since I never remember to order RMI-25 before a coolant drain.
