whats up guys...been playing with the car lately...workin out the bugs here and there...i have a question...my otc 2000 shows me a 20 degree hotter reading than my mechanical autometer guage...did anyone have a problem like that before...strange....when i get too the garage i am going too have too check the otc book and see if these figures are C or F but i figured i would ask....and what info do you need too see to help me with my slight bump in the idle i have...thanks vinny

My OTC 4000 shows 10 degrees colder than the VDO electric shows.

Different direction same problem...this is the 3rd coolant temp sensor ( my car eats them like candy) all have read this way.

I'm no help just in the same boat.

Me, my dad, and a friend all have VDO electric guages and they all read about 10 degrees hotter than the scanner says. I think the difference is normal. I trust the ecm sensor because with the 160 degree thermostat on a 30 degree night the ecm reads 155-165.

My autometer water temp gauge reads nearly 35 degrees hotter than actual, I'm beginning to wonder if anyone makes an accurate temp gauge?

my mechanical autometer and my coolant temp sensor are nuts on.

for that matter,my knock gauge and my knock counts on t-link are the same too(1 light per degree of knock).

i must be the lucky one?

later,sean

whats up guys....today i checked it with a snap on scanner too see if there was any difference from my otc...same thing....i have a 20 degree difference from the scanner and the guage..i did the test with the scanner on the cts and it passed i think im gonna try another guage and see what happens...guess im gonna call summit tonight...
