I'm glad that Grumpy and others are good at doing DIY kits thats great, most TR people don't want to screw with all that and need something that has been proven time after time on our BUICK cars. Get a grip, get a few beers ( or whatever ), get an ALKYCONTROL kit and STFF...move on

ummmm don't throw me to the wolves  I DO NOT HAVE A DIY system !!! I couldn't be bothered!! Others have said it's really easy to do so I say DO IT!!! BUT leave me out of it.. I use Julio's kits in my own and the ONLY one I will install on customer's cars
ok want to see this thread keep goin :p ??? MELISSA'S GN RAN in the 9s @ 138 (NOT the shoulda, woulda, coulda's ) with an ALKYCONTROL system in STREET trim :p ahhhhhh ..isn't winter fun

I DO NOT HAVE A DIY system !!!

Yeah you do Grumpy and heres a pic to prove it

Grumpy & Melissa's car going 9's @ 138 in street trim is deffinately representing the Alkycontrol kit!! There is ALOT of people out there with the Alkycontrol kit on there car that are well into the 10's and now into the 9's. Those are real world results that speak for themselves!!!

Coolingmist has been a sponsor on turbobuick for what, like 2yrs now? Now that iv'e thought about it, Iv'e yet to see any buick with their kit put up any fast times! I don't ever recall seeing anyone say " I went such time @ such mph with a coolingmist kit." If there is a car out there with nice times, Cool!! but just not have seen it personally.. I prefer the real world results like grumpy & Melissa over a video of a nozle spraying anyday! ;)

matter of fact thats what I am doing right NOW!!!! just waiting for a coat to dry ... hmmmm thinking here...... this is on the HOUSE :p  we need a smaller house.. this paintin crap is getting old BUT after I am done I could prob do a car !!!

Isn't it nice to have the "Option" so we may choose which Vendor to deal with? Personally I love my SMC Progressive kit from Steve, who has been around longer than most! Again, just my choice of another great vendor! We keep bashing guys cuz they change stuff & come out with new choices? Soon no one will deal with us!
God this topic gets beat to death & always there are shots taken at some vendor cuz what I bought is better! This is best, that one sucks!
Man it is definately winter!!!

Where is the Beat a Dead Horse icon??

Right here

LOL.. let me clarify. Grumpy your are the one with the stick

BTW: I agree, my White car only has 83 injectors and E-85 and it seems to go pretty well. No other "STUFF"

ahhhhhh ..isn't winter fun

Grumpy.... you are retired.... you need to move down south... where tracks are open year round..... they just had a "Fat Tuesday" huge (usually attracts 20,000 plus racers/spectators) race at Hub City dragstrip yesterday.... You see... Hattisburg (where Hub City Dragstrip is located)... is close to New Orleans... where it was Mardi Gras is happening...and "Fat Tuesday" is one of their attractions.

Dead of winter down here is also when the turbo cars lurk in the streets....

I don't know if there has ever been any salt on our roads before....

Oops... got OT I guess.... sorry.

ummm after a few swings I would be having a heart attack .. although the wife tells me all the time I can never have one because I don't have a heart  isn't that a mean thing to say :p weather up here is goin crazy to.. been pouring rain the last few days!! then tonight it's suppose to freeze and turn to ice and snow!!! I am cleaning out of junk to be ready for the BIG move south!!! just what Fl needs is another dumbass "snowbird" :p

ok back to Alky .... I think it's the best thing to come out for Buicks since the "chip" A few years ago Melissa had her WE4 running mid 11s on race gas.. Julio had been hounding for me to try it for years .. BUT I am old and stubborn  I know thats hard to believe. So the end of 2004/2005 (memory bank is gone) racing season Julio sent us a kit to give it a "whirl" . At the end of the first day of racing she was in the mid 11s where she was with race gas!! Hook was set !!! the rest is history .. never look back
Lots of the new set ups are wayyyy to "busy" for me.. I don't have to see the alky on a computer screen.. Can't wait for the Mazda to be running again. Guess IF I stayed WORKING instead of flapping on the net it would be done sooner .. oppp's... wife say's the walls are dry enuff for another coat of paint  retirement isn't what it's cracked up to be :p

deezs75,the alkycontrol and turbotweak chip will be plug and play.no guesswork, expensive and highly technical stand alone systems will not be required.to go fast afr's need to be dialed in throughout the rpm range that's why i like and firmly believe in progreesive.as a former diyer buying something that works on your car without tuning headache's is priceless.i'm sure other kit's may work but plug and play,i don't think so!a day at the dyno with your tuner will run more $ than your alky kit,and the headgasket repair bill is even higher if you want to experiment.good luck and play smart!

here is what I know about Razors kit.....easy to install..the added features
low level indicator which is mounted in existing low windsheild washer fluid idiot light....the power injection idiot light is also used,,,to show when alky pump is on....the control box...which I mounted in the lower air duct under the steering column and a few others have done the same...ease of instalation...the fact that Eric will burn a chip for your application....and that if there is a problem Julio Solves it....it is progressive,,,you can have it start ramping up at 4psi or 20psi,,,whatever you want....have looked at Snows kits and they look very similar.....again maybe we nedd a no comment pole on numerous sites to see who is running what......on a side note...out of all the alky vendors I petitioned to sponsor a class at another event Snows has been the only one to step up....Devils own suggested intrest,,and I sent them info but no reply...Julio stated to me he was glad other vendors are steppinf up and he will see what he wants to do,,,Coolingmist,,,never responded....maybe theother kits might work better or jut as well....but until times etc are posted on these other kits, they will remain the under dog until they are proven on Buick Turbo Charged cars,,,,,Snows sponsors some big import cars and was just asked to attend a SEMA Snow Performance has been selected to take part in SEMA’s MEDIA TRADE CONFERENCE SET FOR THIS WEEK featuring 101 of motorsports industry’s leading manufacturers.

also featured in numerous National magazines even GM Hi-Tech.....

let’s look at the flip side of your argument. If a new vendor wanted to break into the market, look at the replies in this thread and tell me why a new vendor would want to try.

AlkyControl or bust.

The OP didn’t even ask about alkycontrol. I am sure there is enough alkycontrol “reading” in this forum for a long time. But sure enough, if a person asks about another kit, the group speaks, and alkycontrol gets another, because his kit is “the best”, even though I doubt that most of the posters here have tried another brand, let alone most of the other makers, SMC, DO, Aquamist,CoolingMist, and all the other lesser known kit makers. I know for certain that Devil’s Own wants in on this market, but it seems that some are so set in their ways that all they can say is alkycontrol.

Alky kits are not rocket science. Plenty of kits out there will work just fine.

My kits were introduced in 2003. They were made specifically for the Turbo Buick market not one size fits all. The kit has undergone many changes since its introduction.. call them tweaks as to where things are placed.. why they are placed.. etc.. I stayed strong through the early stages of the kit where nobody wanted it and all the talk was SMC or DIY.. and through constant involvement within the Buick communitty.. constant refinement.. attending Buick races like Bowling Green, West Coast Nationals, Reynolds, etc.. and giving my time.. the payoff has been a loyal following of friends now on this and other boards.

Anyone one can make a cheaper system. Nobody can make a better system for our cars. When they do.. trust me i'll be there to up them one ;)

Good luck with your decisions. See you at Bowling Green racing in the alcohol injection class.. see whose car is fastest with what system.

On a side note.. Dees75z .. your system is more money and more complicated becuase you have a hot air. So the 86/87 kit will not work on your car.

Grumpy do you think the thread is back here again :

First of all "DUST!" you are probably just here for one of the other kit manuf anyway. You only have 2 posts and both are in this thread. But I will be more than happy to Answer some of your questions.

1). "I doubt that most of the posters here have tried any other brand!" answer: " Why try another brand? (Excluding SMC) the other brands are all aimed towards 50/50 mix. You can't achive the results that we are! with 50/50 mix. PERIOD!

2) "I know for certian that Devils Own wants in on the market" Answer: I'm sure they do! but it's going to take more than videos of a nozzle spraying at 4,000,00 psi to make us belivers! We like real results, proven results! thats why we choose ALKYCONTROL :)

You see, Alkycontrol has video's on his website of customers cars going down the track putting up Real numbers using 93octane & Straight methanol injection.
He dosen't waste his time with video's of nozzles spraying also you don't see ANYTHING about 50/50 mix on his site. Why you ask? Because if you Really want to go fast the only way to do it thru any injection kit is "Straight Methanol!!"

Reasons for choosing ALKYCONTROL:
1). Tailor made kit specifically for the turbo buicks! (plug N play)
2). Proven reliability
3). Proven performance (Buick in the 9's should be enough)
4). Proven excellent customer service

Nuff said!!
