The guy should have listened and done what he was asked to do instead of being a jerk and fighting with the officer.

The whole thing could have been avoided and had a different outcome except for that.

The guy was stupid for not doing what he was told.
The sad part is that anti gun nuts will argue they wrongly shot an unarmed man.
What they will be overlooking is that had the assailant been victorious in this clash with the officer,he could have taken the officer's gun and THAT could create a deadly situation.
Therefore deadly force was warranted.
Some of these dumb humps would do well to remember that the next time they try to go one on one with a police officer.

Justified shooting.
I see no problem with him defending himself in that situation.

I was curious about that as well until he assulted the officer after refusing to listen...then it really didn't matter especially since it wasn't even the same officer that stopped him that ended up having to shoot him.

Thanks for the link. So it WAS the initial officer that shot him. STILL justified that is for sure!! He BIT OFF HIS EYEBROW??? Jeez. Won't be surprised when the tox report comes back to find out the guy was on something.

If he attacked me like that I would have capped his butt too!

As an ex-law enforcement for 8 years I can tell you that someone doesnt need to be armed to shoot them. The level force ladder that you follow is to always be one step ahead of the suspect. If he balls up a fist...you draw a stick/pepper spray. He draws a knife...you draw a gun. In the circumstance that was presented here the suspect was much larger and overpowered the officer on brute strength alone. Although you couldnt see him biting the officer you have to realize that he knew he was on the scene without backup and if he got incapacitated his gun could have been used on him. He jumped the ladder when the taser had no effect.

The gun nuts will surely raise hell but you have to act within a split second when your out on the streets. I have been on the stand many times in cases defending what I did. It took only 3-4 seconds of my life to make a decision and it took an attorney 6 months to look over what I did. Not too fair. The old saying is this: You would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6".

Being a firm believer in Darwinism, I'm glad this fine specimen won't be breeding back into the Gene pool....

An example of

the good old "double tap"???
Now, the officer will not only undergo plastic surgery, he'll likely have to take the rabies shots.....
Actually, he may have been thrown off the bridge, had the 2nd officer not gotten there.

The only problem I see is the Officer waited too long. Should have shot him when he was still on the other side of the barrier, dumped him in the river and saved the taxpayers the burial cost.

One less piece of **** in the world!!! The officer did the right thing in my eyes, it was self defense all the way!

I have never understood why someone would argue with a police officer after a reasonable request to you by the officer. From the point of request on the law is on his side and you will loose.

When I drove truck I had to deal with a couple of unreasonable LE's but to argue/not comply with them is foolish.

Dash cam saved him from being dragged thru the mud with all the NCCAP and human rights types.....

I don't think there is any doubt that if the second officer hadn't arrived on scene the out come would have been grave for that officer.

I agree, one less animal to contaminate the earths gene pool has now been eliminated. No loss there.

One less POS! Too bad he didn't take the bullet in the face!
