Cottons AC Delete Pulley

I deleted my AC and bought Cottons delete pulley. The problem I am having is that I keep eating belts (Stock). The belt itself keeps shifting back one tooth on the pulley. Any one have any suggestions.

Did you leave ALL the brackest in place to secure it?

All brackets are there even the y looking piece from the ac compressor

Try rotating the AC pulley bracket 180 degrees, see if that does anything.

Did you try calling Jack?

Just looked at Cotton's site; the AC pully delete ad states that you may need a shorter belt depending on crank pulley size. I know you stated "stock" but you may want to measure things up.

I know the belt is right one. But when I took a straight edge the delete pulley isnt lined up its just a hair forward

Mill the back side of the bracket the amount you need to move it, easy fix if it is all square.

Not to be a jerk, but why should someone have to modify a part that is suppose to fit their car?

Not everyone has machine shop capabilities?

I am not bashing you, just wondering why this would happen on a part intended for our cars?

That part was originally used on a late 80's Chevy S10 pickup without A/C so it was never intended for our cars at all but it will work.

Okay, that makes sense then. I would think it would be in the best interest of the vendor selling them to make them fit our cars though if that is what he is selling for...basically...modify them before selling them.

I think I might help if you called me and let me know there was a problem, I would have taken care of it immediately. So before you make a statement like that, don't you think it's only fair? For what it's worth I can't tell how many of those I have sold or installed and never had that problem.... if it is an alignment problem as you stated, just a flat file on the back edge of the mounting bracket should work easily without too much effort.
sorry about your problem, like Billy stated, we get em from the dealer and have never had a problem in about 9 years.... feel free to call if I can help you resolve this.

I should explain that it isn't my car that this is happening on. I was just interested in the post due to the fact that i will be needing one shortly as well and was surprised to see that the part didn't work out like intended.

I had it in my mind they were for our cars, didn't realize it was not.

My statement was along the lines that if the problem was known, it would make sense to have them modified before selling them. if this is uncommon, then maybe it is a bad pulley setup or something.
