Allright, as I've stated before, I'm new to the TB scene. Here's a couple q's that I have.

What does it mean to hotwire your fuel pump? Why is this done?

What does the term; "Static fuel pressure" mean?

How much boost can you run on 93 octane with an 86-87 IC TR?

I'm sure I'll have more. Thanks.

Michael

1) A wire is run (with relay) from alternator to fuel pump so you get the max volts for max pump speed.
2) Not sure about static but you remove the line from the adjustable regulator to set pressure
3) You run as much boost as knock will allow. Usually 15-17 psi on 93 octane

ditto, you can get the "Hotwire" from Caspers Electronics or pretty much ay of the other vendors. What it does is supply full voltage to the fuel pump as it takes power from the filed terminal on the back of the alternator. They are about $65 or so.

Static is with the line off

This varies on the car, but as he said, it depends on knowck. If you run an alchohol kit, you can run much more boost with no knowck on 93 octane. The kits are $150 for a do it yourself one or up to $500 range for a nifty tricked out one.

Yeah, I've seen some alcohol injection kits. Are you talking straight alky or a 50/50 mix with water? I know that some people have used the Windshield washer fluid that comes in a 2 gallon jug that is already a 50/50 mix and they use that.

One more question: How much boost does a 86/87 run stock?

Thanks.
Michael
