Crank sensor setting...which slot?!

I just bought a new crank sensor and bracket assembly and I bolted on the bracket OK and got the balancer and stuff installed but here's my question...which slot does the interupter ring go into on the crank sensor itself? is it the very first slot or is it the 2nd slot...I can't remember how the old one was on there...also there's a long screw that you can tighten but I don't see how the heck it tightens the crank sensor down because the sensor slides back and forth and never even touches that long screw...what's going on here!

so the first slot then...correct? the one farther away from the connector, also how does the sensor tighten? is it when you tighten the long screw, the two prongs that hold the sensor in place get tighter?

yes the long screw pinches the arms to the sensor
