I like to (while on the engine stand)flip my block upside down and put the upper mains in the block use a magnetic base dial indicator and check the mains by turning the crank slowly by hand to see if there is any runout or if its bent.Use a little assembly lube before turning the crank on the bearing.I wasn't going to say that thinking a person should know better.But I hadnt have time to put on my flame suit yet this morning
