I was wondering if it is possible to connect a fwd 3.8 to a rwd trans. I have an 87 t type Buick Lesabre the body is junk the engine only has 70 thousand miles on it> I Hate to see this engine go to waste. Any suggestions? Bernie Steffen bstef@mchsi.com

Yes you can do it. You just have to use the correct transmission. The FWD 3.8 uses what is called the composite bolt pattern instead of the more common B-O-P pattern that is found on the TR. The composite BP trans is used on 2.8/3.1/3.4 V-6 engines found in the F-body and S-10.

The only other thing that might cause a problem would be the motor mounts. I'm not sure but I think some FWD blocks dont have the correct mounting boss cast into the block on the right side. Maybe both sides?
