CT Emissions

Any notices due in 2012 can be ignored right?

There's no procedure to apply for a waiver right?

Thanks for the confirmation.

I just got my new registration form, and, of course they list a 1/2012 emissions date for my car.

I ain't showing up. :p

There's nothing I could find that states you need to submit anything to them either, for the waiver, I just hope the State and P.D.'s can do the math when it counts. ;)

Of course the other car, the GN just had to FAIL the NOX on it's last test April 7.

EGR solenoid and plastic box thingy are cracked, gotta find one for the retest and use fresh gas this time and unplug the fan.

Only test I ever failed with TR and it has to be the last one.

Maybe I'll put in the new Extender Extreme G chip I got, since the TT chip and the new GEN II don't seem to like each other that much. :p

I guess if I fail I only have about 6 months to get caught before it too is exempt. :p

Getting ready for my last test. Just put the cat back on, threw in the TT emissions chip and turned fuel pressure down to 38 lbs like the instructions say.

Wonder if I can pass WITHOUT the EGR hooked up???? Took it off a while ago. Going for a quick drive to let the chip learn. Emissions place is only a few minutes from where I live so want it to learn before I make the drive over.

I passed with a non-emiss. chip and no egr. Looks like even though were exempt in 2012, if there was an open emiss. notice prior we still have to pass .

I failed twice but still got my registration for 2 years since it was in the works already in between failures.

I'm not sure what an "open notice" is vs. failure on the last test....

But I guess I'll find out in two years when the registration is up again for renewal.

I guess by open they mean you havent attempted to go at all .True come 2012 well find out . Once exempt , I cant see them having a leg to stand on about it .

Thanks for the reply.

The guy who did the test said I didn't have to bother, but I didn't really believe him on that one.

I know a no-show would be in the 'puter and not look good, now all I got is a last test fail in there. :p

Take a small vacuum pump (you can borrow GNBRETT's if needed) and pull a little vacuum on the egr so its just slightly cracked. It will idle a little crappy but for the dyno test it will be fine and will remove any chance of a Nox fail on the emissions test. If you need a egr valve lmk

Passed just fine today! Well within limits without any EGR on the car! Back up on the ramps and back to normal this weekend. No time to work on it this week.

You guys make a project out of anything ..

My piece of crap Stage 2 passed without EGR, without special tune and without evap canister. Did have the "Twin" cat set-up though.:)

got my notice in the mail today called the #(getting painted)was told would only need to go through if your reg is up this year(2011 need current test)and will be exempt from there on.jim:smile:

Thanks for the info. :)

Good thing they raised the retest period to 60 days and I got my new reg. done in that time period.

Hopefully with the MVD personnel cuts they'll just program a computer to kick out all 1987 cars as exempt.

Assuming there's someone there smart enough to do that.:biggrin:
