I have a cheapo that does the trick of keeping bugs off and some protection should my dogs jump on it (has not happened) but dust gets through.

The car is a garage car but I do want to cover it.

Am looking for something with some padding and dust protection AND most importantly... some color or way of telling the front from the back. It takes me forever to untangle the thing and get it on correctly. I try taking it off carefully but it is hard to do by myself.

Anyone make one with logos or colored sections?

I just got through researching this and finally made a selection. Here's a basic run down of my findings:

Who makes them?
Carmotorsports

California car cover http://www.calcarcover.com/car_cover_select.asp

GSCA:

I purchased the cover from Carmotorsports. It fits perfect and seems to be water proof. It is very thin (one specific reason I bought it) and has an embroydered emblem on the front. It's a nifty silver color as well. Because it is so thin, It will not give any impact protection. So far I'm really happy with it.

Any of the covers listed would work great and are all custom fit. I chose the one I did for it's compact size and it's water resistance.

I have been using the california Car Cover Plushweave for about 7 years on my '87 TR and about 1.5 years on my '02 Z06, also a California Car Cover Plushweave, and both fit perfect. They are light gray in color, (I think that other colors are available as an option), have a very soft flannel lining to protect the paint, and are reasonably inexpensive, considering the length of time that they last. If you buy a heavy and/or thick enough cover then you will not have to worry about not being able to put it back on as you can't wad them up in a big ball like the lightweight covers. You simply fold over the sides of the car cover in one or two folds (do not overlap right side to left side, but they should almost touch) and then roll them up like a sleeping bag from the trunk area or rear of the car and open the trunk and throw it in the trunk and stow them that way. To cover the car start at the front of the car and simply un-roll backwards toward the rear of the car. Then pull the sides down. The car cover will last longer and stay cleaner this way, and only a slight portion of the inside touches anything when rolled up. When I see someone with a light weight or thin cover trying to remove their cover in a slight wind, oh well. Then you will be glad you did it the other way. The soft flannel lining will leave a slight gray dust till it has been washed a few times. Sorry for the long post.
