I always understood that removing that rubber strip at the hood line was ineffective since its a high pressure area and will cause air to push in.

Take the one off of your car and then take it for a spin with the windows down on a cold day.......

You won't need the heater, I promise.

As far as removing the cowl insulation, at a stop it releases heat from under the hood, when moving it pushes the cooler air down from the windshield into the engine bay, just like Many cars that utilized cowl induction hoods.. same premise. I left a small piece across the air intake for the AC to keep from sucking in hot air, or the smell of oil from a leaking rear main ;)

Shoot me an e-mail we already have a list started. I'll put you on the contact when arrives. Normally for people who do this we discount the product or shipping. This helps us gauge on how many to purchase.

I always thought a 1" or so raised Turbo hood would look bada$$. Just like stock but with the center (from grill) section about an inch raised. Would look very subtle.

I never measured my hood from vfn. When Carl made it he said the bump was a tad bigger:confused: Its been in the rafters since he made it.That was maybe 1992 or 93.

I've always noticed that the 77-81 Trans Am shaker hood scoop had an uncanny resemblence to a Buick turbo hood bulge. The top part of the TA scoop could be grafted onto a Buick hood to give a more prominent looking scoop.
