I have heard the D5 convertor is a stock higher stall lockup convertor for the 200 4R.
Anyone know what a D6 convertor came in and what its specs would have been new??

i'm assuming the d6 is a gm converter as well...

if thats the case, then d7 would also be a gm converter. my orange stripe i had for a while had d7 stamped on it, whats up with that?

Aftermarket converters can use any core to make their stall. I had a 2800 stall that was made from a d6 core. They use the 14 vane stator and some rebend and weld the fins and some just open up the clearance inside to give a higher stall. D7 converters usually came out of the 700-R4 trannies with 30 spline but that can be changed at rebuild time.
