I could be wrong but arent EVO's all wheel drive? With a good clutch/driver it might be good match from a dig..little or no tire spin.
My little SRT4 is useless from a dig cuz the tire spin (I don't race it much) but if I want to have any fun at all it has to be from a roll. I have a 70 Road Runner with drag radials for the digs.

Yes and No.

If the driver knows how to launch the AWD without bogging it down and loosing his spool, then yes...they launch pretty good. You seem to be saying that in your comments.

If they don't know how to launch them...then they tend to favor roll racing from about 10-15mph.

Now get rid of that SRT-4 and buy yourself a Turbo Buick...you'll never look back...

I lost a race from a dig against an EVO in my WS6, full bolt ons and DR's. Then a supra got me about 2 weeks later. Then a WRX got me. Now I have a 62mm turbo and ALky in the near future. Hopefully I can find these cute little ricers again.

What's the quickest built EVO that you know of?

How much money are these guys dropping on these imports to make them run that fast? Yeh Turbo buicks are exspensive to make fast . if you do it wrong. But what i wanna see is a dollar for dollar race.. get the same amount of cash on a stock car and mod it. then drag it.. see who wins!!!

Your statement is valid for all domestic vs import, not just Turbo Buick vs import as far as I'm concerned.

A local car forum that I belong to has a "build thread" section. Right now there is a Honduh Civic owner who is dropping some serious cash into his POS. Someone made the comment about how it should "haul out" pretty good once he's done. I though to myself, yea right.... he just sunk probably $3000+ (head,cams,small turbo) into an F-ing Civic that will take it from a 17 second car to a high 14s-15 flat car. WOOOOWWW!!
