DIE HACKERS, DIE!!!!!

We just cleaned the hard drive--EVERYTHING that used to be on it is now on my stepson's hard drive. Just got it formatted about 2 hours ago. Been loading drivers & programs. About an hour ago, I got online to see if it worked, it did. I got 3 e-mails (all "known", no goofy ones) and my browser defaulted to MSN.com, which I just turned off.

I got offline, then loaded more programs--Norton being one of 'em...

10 minutes ago I get alerted that I have the W32.Welchia worm!!

How in THEE hell did that virus find me so fast??

The stupid part is, I haven't had a virus come thru this computer in months!!

Do a search. It'll tell ya how to fix it. You have to fix it before the PC can access MS Windows Update to DL the patch to prevent it. I fought this one for an entire day when I built this PC. I'd go the Windows site to DL the updates and my machine would shut down May wanna start here:

Make sure you have the latest service pack(atleast 4) then go to MS windows update and download/install all the security patches they have and make sure your virus definitions are current also.
