dashboard lights

when i turn on my headlights my dash shut off... does any body no what it might be or how to fix it...thanks

Sounds like there is insufficient ground either in the headlight circuit or more likely the dash (you mean cluster, right?) Similar to when you see someones tail lites dim or go out when the turn signals flash.
