I am thinking about removing the dashboard in my 86 GN so I can dye it to freshen it up. I would like to do a really good job on it, and was kind of hesitate about dying it in the car. How difficult is the dashboard to remove out of the car?
I would tape and bag the dash in the car..I did it on mine and it is perfect. I've even told guys at the shows I dyed it in the car and they didn't believe me. All in just a few hours. Unless you're replacing the dash with a better one I think you should leave it in..just my .02

Grab a kick panel and bring it to your local auto paint supply place. They can mix the perfect color and it goes on like car paint but real light coats for a factory look. SEM makes a dye that lasts forever and sprays real nice. I'm sure you can yank the dash if you wanted too..but not needed.
If your interested on learning on how to do it call me and I will explain to you the way I do it. I have had about 50 of them out literally.i can have 1 out in 45 minutes without cutting anything
