Late breaking news Davy Jones of the Monkees fame suffered a massive heart attack earlier today at age 66. Old time owners may recall that he was one of our guests back around 1990 at one of our Reunion events at the Johnsville Airbase in Warminster, PA. Same year we had Molly there for the Buick crowd. Davy Jones was our guest for the GTO owners. Both had long lines getting their autographs. Davy Jones actually had a horse farm in central PA area.

The Monkees TV show was probably the earliest style of Music videos on TV. He never really looked old!
Sad day............

I just saw him a couple of weeks ago at Mohegan sun in a free concert in the Wolfs Den.

I was just outside gambling, and it's a great open air venue.

He could still sting and looked great too.

"I'm a Believer" sounded just like the old days.

RIP

RIP. We saw The Monkees last summer in South Bend and he was great! When he came out on stage he introduced himself as "Davey Jone's father"... which drew huge laughs from the audience. H

I used to love watching the monkees as a kid and even remember when he was on the brady bunch. Very sad to hear he's gone.:(

Kirban again:

The year he attended our Reunion event was 1992 along with Molly. We had over 150 Turbo Regals present 98 GNs bumper to bumper in two rows. I was a lot younger back then!

For those that don't see the connection with Davy Jones-Monkees and GTO.....the car they used in their TV show was created from a 1966 GTO. A great PR move for Pontiac as the GTO in 1966 sold its best sales. Anytime you have a te in with a TV show its good PR.

I appreciate the link I have a pretty neat colection of the metal and plastic Monkeemobile models. One of which is quite rare actually made for a short period of time in Japan. Not sure what scale it is larger than a 1:18 scale.

In person he was a lot like Molly very approachable at the event we had.

Sad day, always liked watching the Monkees TV show back in the day. LOVED the Monkeemobile, remember seeing it when I was out in California. Saw the Monkees minus Mike Nesmith at the Oakdale theater in Wallingford CT when they did a reunion tour.

Jimi Hendrix actually opened up for the Monkees for some concerts. Remember when people called the them the Pre-fab Four, play on the Beatles fab Four nickname. Believe Peter Tork lives in CT.

Had lots of fun watching the Monkees TV show. Too bad, he was still pretty young. I believe Steven Stills tried out for the part but didn't get it b/c of he had ugly teeth (oh those Brits).

The funny thing is Mike Nesmith's mother created liquid paper so when she died he retired for the most part.:(

X2:( Used to watch them when I got home from school.
I carried a Monkees lunchbox to school for a few years.
