I guess Im just looking for something to do to my car , or just spend money. You guys know the feeling, gotta have more, more, more.....

Currently running a GT67 and the car rips like crazy. What would I see with a DBB70 GTQ? Would I gain much fun factor? What would my spool up be in comparison?

I hardly ever go to the track, maybe once a year, mostly street action.

Have a 911 3600 stall, built shortblock w/girdle, champ aluminum heads, 75 pounders, etc..

Thanks Guys..

If you are mostly street I would stick with the 67, if you were mostly track then the 70 gtq would be the ticket. If you do make the switch, good luck finding any type of street rubber to hook up the dbb 70 gtq.....JMO

Hold The Hell On

Alaska,

I have a very similar build to what you have:

Aluminum GN1 Heads

218/212 Roller Cam

1.55 Roller Rockers

75 lb injectors

3600 Stall

SMC Alky

Eagle Crank with Center Billet Main Caps

Diamond Pistons

Total Seal Rings

etc., etc., etc.

I just sent my GTQ 71 (non-ball bearing) off for a freshning up and had a local friend who let me try out his GTQ-70 (non-ball bearing)

I went to the local 1/8 mile track last Thursday and landed a 6.66 seconds at 106.06 mph

1.56 sec. 60 ft

28 lbs max boost

My best with the GTQ-71 was 6.96 seconds at 100.5 mph (1.6 sec. 60 ft)

I drive my car 95% on the street with an occasional track run

I like the slower spool on the street to keep the cars manners in check (no sideways at any speed)

I'm sold on the GTQ-70 and if your going DBB, you are in for a ton of fun
(buying new tires that is...lol)

Ray

You picked up 6 MPH in the 8th with turbo swap! I'm glad I'm seeing the 70GTQ's are awesome turbo's! I'm waiting for a DBB 70GTQ to arrive for my car.

yes that car was amazing! I saw sytech run at the track, he down graded turbos and gained mph! the 70 gtq works great in the non ball bearing trim, imagin ball bearing. Rays car was flying! 70 gtq was on barrow too! He barrowed a turbo 6 sizes smaller then the one he had, and ran a faster time. Ray is one happy man right now!

First run out after swapping turbos and he ran 6.66 If that an't a sign then I dunno what is!

Well you have to remember your talking about a 70' series turbo, that is huge! even in p trim with an s cover.

70 dbb gtq is the ticket start saving!

The 70DBB would actually spool faster than your 67 non-BB turbo and make quite a bit more power too.
