Deatschwerks DW301 for my setup?

The aftermarket fuel pump in tank now is flaking out on me so I'm looking to upgrade. I'm really looking for a good drop-in pump that can suit my setup. I've been doing a lot of reading and it looks like the DW301 will be the best bang for the buck. I'm running 50# injectors and a TE60 with a modified (adjustable) stock regulator. Guess I'm worried about this being almost too much pump. This is really just a street car that I'd like to track a few times a year.

Any advice is appreciated.

When it comes to fuel delivery and dependability you can never have too much.

The Jay Racing and Aeromotive flow more fuel, if you're not going to run E85 those two pumps are a better bang for the buck. AMS did a great write up on the new fuel pumps and it sheds some light on what's out there and what they're really flowing.

Well I don't plan to run E85 at all, so the Jay Racing PT340 or the Aeromotive 340 Stealth are what you are referring to? Between the two, does anyone have any real-life reasons for choosing one over the other? Ease of installation I would assume is the same, so I'm looking at failure rates, etc to help me decide. In the future, I may want to step up to 60# injectors. Any concerns there? Sorry for the newbie questions. Never bought a fuel pump before and I really don't even know whats in the tank now. Wanting to make the best educated decision.

I've got the DW301. My thoughts are,if it is the pump that will survive E85,it will survive today's gas with alcohol in it. Another thing that sold me was the fact that it comes with a warantee.

Mine took a little modifying to get it to sit in the hanger. The modifying consisted of snapping the little plastic tabs off the bottom of the pump just right to get it to sit in there flush. No big deal!

You *will* need to something about the stock return line. Still no big deal even for a semi-newbie like me and help from this group.

The pump is stone silent,too. No complaints here on the DW.

I've read some about modifying the stock return line fittings at the regulator and at all of the saginaw fittings. I don't mind doing the work if it's necessary, but if the Jay Racing or Aeromotive don't require the mods, I may go there. Can anyone shed some light??

I am the one that modded the fuel fittings, but probably not required. I was going to a StageII and if the DW pump couldn't handle the flow needed, I was going bigger. Because I had to mod the fuel system for the Champion intake fuel rails, I just did the whole system upgrade, by removing all the Saginaw fittngs and increasing cross sectional area approx. 300% on the return line to just make sure it wouldn't be the issue. Few hours of work is all.
