62mm GT3582 compressor wheel for my setup, bring on Bowling Green, hopefully!!

Anyone out there ever run a 62 on their HA?

Yes they've ran 62mm. Fwiw the gt35 compressor is 61.4mm and is usually referred to as 61mm. I've never seen a 3582 cartridge run as a unit on one though it's possible. I had a 3582 on an intercooled setup and it supported mid 10 sec power and spooled a lot faster than the 60-1/t04 76 I had on there at the time.

Bison,

Perfect and thanks for the explanation...I guess I know enough to sound somewhat knowledgeable but not exact :). We had some issues with the build on the 58mm that the bearings went out, so under warranty it went back down to alabama, may as well open her up! If you were running a hot air like me what would you paint as your Picasso?

If I found a core would you paint it for my car? Or is the 61mm pretty much the limit. Ask Brian at GBP, I have been pushing the limit a bit with my car lol....

If you had a bearing failure you'd need to figure out the cause. The problem you will run into is the compressor cover. You need to run at least an 86-87 cover. You'd need to alter the cover to work on the 84-85 intake. Cut off the outlet and weld on the adaptor. The problem with all this is the stock intake will choke flow the compressor and put you above the surge line. It's quite a bit of work to convert them because the carbon seal needs to be retained. Sometimes the back of the wheel needs to be altered. Not usually the case with the gt35r but t04e wheels need to be cut typically

Thanks

Dont need to worry about the intake or heads, as champion ported both
The intake needs a lot more than porting. If it's been cut open and opened up then you can benefit from more turbo for sure. PM if you want to get one going. We'd need to settle on a turbine. There's 3 that come to mind that Id consider for this application.
