Will the monsoon unit out of a new Camaro or Firebird fit in the GN and look factory? Aside from modifying mounting brackets and without changing the dash?

Yes they fit just fine, but be sure to get a jumper harness to tie in the old wiring to the connector on the monsoon radio.

If you go back a few posts FlyinGN put one into his GN and even explained the mod to the radio ac/heat cover. You also have to add a LOC (line out converter) so you can run an external amp.

correct. Or you can use speaker lever outputs for the amp.. Right?
Heres a 2002 Camaro Monson radio in my car
