Been running a single wire denso after 36 gallons of 112 octane. 02's show good along with the cross counts 0-255 in closed loop. Went to put some 93 octane to drive on the street this weekend and it still shows great 02 cc. Gotta love the Denso!

A) 3 wire heated
B) 1 wire

It has been posted in this post already.

1 wire stock style replacement part #234-1001

4 wire heated version compatible with Casper's 4 wire O2 kit part #234-4018

didn't feel like going through three pages of stuff...wanted to find out for sure from those in the know...ya know?
So, the heated version is 4 wire...hmmm, I'm only set up for a 3 wire

THEY ONLY USE 3 OF THE WIRES ON THE 4 O2 SENSOR(IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN).DO YOU HAVE A WEATHER PACK TOOL?THEY SELL THE TOOLS AT ANY PARTS STORE.ALSO NEED A 4 PRONG SQUARE WEATHER PACK CONNECTOR,MALE CONNECTOR,ACTUALLY GO TO CASPERS SITE AND CHECK OUT THE INSTRUCTIONS AND SEE WHAT YOU NEED TO SEE....

HOPE THIS HELPS YA OUT...JOEL

LS1 guy here...

So the stock GN o2 sensors are heated 3 wire ones?

But you guys can run a unheated 1 wire one with no problems? No codes?

So from reading the thread, the 02 will last through maybe 40-60 gallons of C16? For me that would be half of the year or more, very cool.

How long are the sensors, about 2 feet long?

pro stock john. The GN actaully uses only a one wire unheated O2 sensor. Remmember these are 16 year old ecms not the updated PCMS used in your case. However there are some that run a 4 wire O2 using a caspers heated O2 sensor kit. This supplies voltage to the element. If I remmember the PCM picks up the voltage through one of the grounds and when voltage is not sensed it throws and error code. Hope some of this info helps. I have used one of these on my faster car and so far no failures as of yet.

Have 50 gallons of 110 & 112 through my single wire, cc just now slowing a bit. Still hasn't thrown a code yet. For $21 can't beat it.

I have had my car for 3 years and put around 15,000 miles on it. It has a 4 wire heated O2 in it and has had leaded racegas in it at least 10 times I know of since I bought the car. The O2 cc's are still very good on DS and I have never gotten a code. I would have to say the nonheated O2's are a waste of time if you plan to run any racegas at all.

I would say the heated 02's are a waste of time (and more money) if race gas is used.......the same Denso single wire was used in Nick's race car and my car for a considerable length of time running straight 116......lasted much longer than a heated Delco and half the price

only way to fly if you need an 02 and run race gas

I am told Denso makes a heated 02 sensor. Has anyone had any good/bad experience with that ?? Perhaps this calls for a new thread !

I am on my 3rd Denso, in about a year, running race gas almost exclussively for the last 6 months. They last longer then GM's and they tend to go down slow, giving you plenty of time to recognize and fix it before it is to late. The scanmaster will tell you long before it throws a code if you watch the cycles, and notice the fluctuation or swings are far less then usual.
I was going to try the heated denso next...

Anyone out there running a Heated Denso ?

I just got my heated Denso a couple of weeks ago.
Haven't put it in yet because the heated O2 that came with the Caspers 4 wire conversion is still going strong and it's had a mix of 93/110 for about a year and now straight 110 for the last 40 gallons. Cross counts are still good on this thing!

I have to buy a new O2. Is Denso's heated O2 the same as Caspers heated O2 unit or do I have to buy Casper's heated O2 and when it gives buy the Denso replacement O2? How much longer will the heated unit last? Would alky have any affect on the O2 sensor?

ok 1 quick question....
can you buy/order these from...
autozone-advance auto parts-ramchargers??

any of these places have them locally or do you have to get them mailed to you

i need a new 02 and dont feel like wiating forever

yeah but i dont have a credit card and dont have access to one to use on the internet... that is why i ask also :( :( :(

Follow up question

Does the Thrasher 108 chip require the use of a good O2 sensor, besides for tuning? I thought it ran full time open loop, and I can tune by EGT. Tim

Thrasher only runs in open loop at idle...you'll need a good 02 to run that chip

My AC O2 is dying, Denso goes in tonight....

I just returned from a little running around town and noticed my AC (GNX) O2 is giving all kinds of wild, erratic readings!
650, then 75, then 0.00, then 725.......

I only run 4 gallons of 110 leaded to a tank. Geez.

This O2 only has about 60 miles on it, too.
Wow. I just wanted to see how long the AC would last.
Well, there you go. ;)

Denso goes in the moment the exhaust cools down this evening.

I'll keep a close eye on the Scanmaster to see how it responds.

I imagine my Thrasher will appreciate the new O2 and healthy fuel. Can't wait.

I've said it before, I'll say it again....Race Gas GOOOOOD! :)
No knock whatsoever and gobs of pull. Love it.
