I want to run leaded gas in my car when I goto the track, but I want to also run regular 91 octane in it also while on street.

Would my best bet be to get a heated kit, and a Denso lead proof? I dont really want to change them very often.

In addition to part #234-1001, #234-1000 is listed as a "universal" replacement. It's slightly more expensive. Does that make it any better?
Thanks
Paul

I believe the #234-1000 doesn't come with the weatherpack connector for our cars....you have to do some cutting/splicing.

234-1001

Through the densoaftermarket.com site, I found a place open Sunday that carries the unheated o2 sensor. Oddly enough, I discovered the bolts holding the turbo to the downpipe had disappeared. That explains the increasing noise and exhaust smell. Anyhow, the new o2 sensor went in fairly easy, a 22mm crows foot socket would have made life easier, but I managed with my open ended one. Off idle response seems has improved, and the extremely rich smell is gone. Regarding the iridium plugs, I opted to go with the NGK's (URIX 7401), ordered through pep boys for 9.10 each. Someone posted that all brands other than NGK sold anywhere other than the dealers are seconds, and NGK is the only one who destroys seconds. Plus, I've always had good luck with NGK's in my supras and 2 stroke yamaha's.

The tuning out come.

So far the performance of the Denso O2 sensor has been fine. Only had it to the track 3 times since install and it is still working. This is much longer than any single wire one has withstood a steady diet of Sunoco 116 octane! This has been through a severe "rich" tuning stage with an all new combo. We have a club racing day Jan 26 where it will see many "tuning" runs which will be recorded w/direct scan also. That should provide lots of good info.

Still waiting for the arrival of Denso iridum plugs for this motor. A few local racers are going with them especially in turbo applications.
Hey nick, what was the tuning outcome with the direct scan? what are the numbers to stay with-in? thank you, scot w

My posts here are over 2-1/2 years old. :D

It has been 2 years ago that I installed the FAST system and wide band O2 in my car and have not had much personal dealings with Direct Scan or O2's since.

Local guys using the Densos still see longer life and similar values to most other brand sensors.
