Denso "lead proof" O2's...how are they holding up?

I would not assume the 02 sensor is bad because of the wide swings. I have always thought the 02 was actually working well when the scanmaster indicated wide cycle's like the ones you described. When my last Denso went out, it was staying consistent between 330 and 410 all the time no matter what the speed. Also started getting the check engine light for 10 seconds, and then it would shut off.
I am no 02 sensor expert, so someone else chime in if I am wrong.

Sounds great to me...

The Denso is working perfectly so far.
Only drove it about 10 miles but it's cycling VERY nicely.
I'd venture to say it's every bit as fast as the "GNX" sensor I had.

I am getting MUCH better WOT numbers, too.
760 min. to 800+ max. Nice and safe, with 17PSI and a Thrasher.

The car runs fantastic and pulls like crazy.
NO retard, either.

Just ordered my sigle wire today form Sparkplugs.com.
Car is going on a steady diest of C16.

I am going to upgrade to a heated one next.:D

Any word on the iridium spark plugs??

Yeah or neah??

I am using AC gapped at .25 right now. :)

i just ran my brand new denso o2 sensor this past weekend and ran 5 gallons of straight 116 through it...did not code and shows very healthy cross counts and mvs...for the price you can't beat it...

YEAH on the iridiums. use em. Actually if you do some searching also on the board, I belive there was someone who stated on the dyno they received 5 or 15 horsepower just by putting these plugs in. I know it had a "5" in it!:D

Do any sponsers carry the one wire? If I have to spend it anyway, might as well help those who help us :)

I bought just the wiring harness from caspers for the heated O2 sensor then bought the denso from sparkplugs.com

After a few thousand miles and ~15-20 gallons of 114 mine is finally taking a crap. All of the sudden I get crazy O2 numbers at WOT and rather slow update at idle. Then I loose 2 mph in the 1/8 and 4 mph on the big end...gotta be the sensor. It was good while it lasted though!

cc's with new denso O2

I just put in my new denso 234-1001 O2 sensor last night and have been driving around and the cross counts are hardly moving, sometimes they don't move at all even while driving. The mv's go from like 140 to 550 and sometimes when I am slowing down they go down to like 20. When I first strated the car after putting the sensor in it stayed right at 390 for about the first minute. Do you have to reset the ecm or anything when changing out the sensor? I am running the stock chip right now if thats makes any difference.

Does this mean I got a bad O2?

Thanks, James

Thanks for posting, Steve!

Exactly what a lot of us use!!

No need for any more UN-heated 02 sensors, ever, thankfully!!

:) :) :)

You mean people STILL buy & buy & buy

UN-heated sensors???

WHY???

Is it like some weird addiction???

You purchase one Unheated O2 sensor from Advanced Auto, and you can exchange it for a new one once it goes bad. Not bad if you don't mind changing them out often. I do agree though, that heated is the way to go.
