I don't recall what page, but they spoke about how the small block ford has only 4 bolts per cylinder holding on the cylinder head. I thought to myself sounds like a Buick V6. The fix was to use larger 1/2" head studs. Could this be done to a Buick?

Question is why would you need to? Just using head studs period for the Buick is basically all you need

Tony 87, I see alot of posts in the tech area about blown headgaskets. The stock headbolt is 7/16". I thought a larger 1/2" head stud may reduce headgasket failures. Cheap insurance?

Just about every engine built has this problem. Ford 3.8,5.0,5.8 and Chevy LS1's. They arent made to have massive turbo's in the CAD stages of design. The 1/2 inch studs is a bandaid. A company just released an all new heavy duty with extra head bolts LS! block. Also the cylinder walls are very thin typically with a production block. A good stage block is around .185-.200. Dart blocks start an .250.
