So I installed my new master cylinder and brake booster today, went pretty well. Took about 2.5-3hrs.

So i bled the rear brakes and I move on to the fronts... Notice the caliper bolts seem loose in the right side... So I pull the tire. I find these bolts, also one with a cotter pin?

I'm guessing this isn't factory?

The top bolt does grab into I would guess the steering knuckle. The lower is just sitting in the hole...

Nope...that's not "ghetto" that's def "white trash" or "redneck" engineering...

Any tips for proper repair? Do I need to install a new steering knuckle or can i heilicoil it?

Get a new caliper.
I don't think that's the problem? I guess how I can test it is the driver side is fine, so ill pull those bolts and swap them around to figure out what's stripped out, I thought it was the steering knuckle tho

The only problem I see is that the washer is to small. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously though you may need to get another knuckle to fix it properly. I'm guessing that the guide pin threads are stripped out and that's why it was mickey moused like that.

You could heli-coil the knuckle but I would recommend replacing it if it were my car.

good time to boneyard the blazer upgrade. i found a low mileage 05 spindle complete, even good pads. $40 should have left the hoses connected. same yard last week spent the time to disassemble complete spindle with the hoses this time and they wanted to charge for everything $115 so I passed, too steep for spare parts

That's a help kit that's used when you strip out the threads in the knuckle. The threads stripped out either because they were over tightened or the bolt seized and stripped when removed. The best way to fix it is to replace the knuckle.

What year blazers do I check out? How is this an upgrade? What's it do?
