DID the 86 Pontiac 2+2 have a good trans

Just wondering if they had a CZ, OZ or BR trans or something along those lines that are good cores/valve bodies to use. I may be able to get one FREE from a bud

Probably close to the CZ, came with a Chevy V8-305HVin. It had a CA code according to this chart >> THM 200-4R Information
It's not in BOLD print so it may be just an average trans.

I can't imagine its anything good or any better than an '86 Monte 305 4bbl trans.

The 2+2 motor either had 162 or 157 Hp, depending on who you ask. My original trans got lost years ago when the shop that swapped in the 6 speed went bankrupt (HP motorsports), otherwise I tell you exactly what it was.

I think it shifted around 5400 RPM when I took it to the track. It was slow enough to watch it pretty close. Don't know how accurate the tach was, though.

3.08 gears were stock.
