The transmission in my 86 t-type shifts at the same rpm in D or OD. The only difference between the way the trans shifts is that I have one more gear in OD. I do not have a trans brake! My son had the trans in his 87 turbo t rebuilt and a trans brake installed. His trans now shifts at 5000 rpms plus at WOT while in D but short shifts at 3500 at WOT in OD causing engine knock! Is this how a trans is supposed to shift with a trans brake? The guy that built the trans for my son says yes. I do not think it is right but only have experience with my car. Any and all comments would be appreciated.
