I'd like to know differences between compressor side and turbine side. Would also like compressor and turbine maps for both, and any experiences changing from 62 to 45a...
From what I can remember they both use the P-trim turbine so the only difference is the TE62 uses the 60-1 compressor wheel and the 45A uses a 66mm compressor wheel.
Lets say in the animal kingdom the the 62 is a worm an the 45a is the elepahnt that just stomed it 10 ft in the ground.. Being that elephant is running enough stall an injector an heads to flow.. Plus its a big shaft turbo.. I run one on this current build an it is so swweeettt.. @ 22 lbs on the street its a monster.. I am running 22 lbs with 93 octane no alky an no knock I figure I can get some low 7's as it is tuned in pretty good right now courtesy of Dusty Bradford..
Yea, and if you like your motor and plan to keep 93 in it for a while I would back that boost back down a few pounds. It's fine to work it up to that at the track but to keep it there and drive it like that all the time with WOT blasts is asking for trouble. One tank of bad gas and I get to see the inside's of that motor a lot sooner than I care too.
The car does feel good though and I believe you could run it at that boost at the track on 93. I never heard the slightest hint of knock, but it's pushing it. Now that I think of it I doubt I could hear anything over that exhaust
I hear ya Dusty you know i'm not the average bear.. That is the one time is been up that high the other day. I stay around 5-10 lbs an thats every now an again. Not a hot foot with all the paychecks I got in this thing!!
