Going to hook up one of Julio's PACs on one of my brother's TRs. This is for a dig dash car so no 2bar map. However the plug is there (on the harness). Sooo, do you just go ahead and plug it up and Tee into the pressure switch vac hose, leaving the pressure switch electrical plugged up. Or, will this cause a confict with both plugs being hooked up and so the pressure switch needs to be unplugged? (Which would basically mean just replace the pressure switch with the 3bar MAP ).
P.S. Yes, this is the new #122-3861 (213-1562) MAP so I already know there is no issue with the TR plug wiring vs. the MAP setup.
Make sure the wiring on the car corresponds as follows,
A=ground
B=signal
C= 5v
When you look at the bottom of the sensor there will be letters..get a voltmeter and confirm the readings. I would unclip the green wire and use that for drive to the controller. With 5 volts on C and ground on A, you will read 1.6 volts on B terminal. You will need to turnon the ignition to get the 5 volts.
You can leave the pressure switch if you like..the only thing is you want the physical (green) (signal B) wire on the MAP sensor.. Letters are on opposite side of connector plug. And use a good vacuum connection to it.
"unclip"? Dont you just tap into the signal wire (B)? This is how the controller gets the boost reading from the MAP, so it does have to stay connected I would think. Unless you were just talking about to test? (Im probably just misunderstanding you here). Just thought about it. Your not talking about "unclipping" at the plug TO the MAP, your talking about FROM the MAP/plug (at the harness), right? Since this wire serves no purpose going to the car?

This shouldnt be a problem because the pressure switch has its own [2 wire] plug. I was just wondering about the dash (boost idiot lights) getting mixed signals from both the switch and MAP being hooked up simultaneously. Not sure if this is an issue or not. Probably not. The dig dash probably only gets signal from the 2wire plug of the pressure switch. The MAP plug probably has no effect.
Thanks again Julio!
The wire on the MAP going into the car serves no purpose. At worst it may get something on it to drag it down or ??? Thats why I suggested clipping( at least 6 inches) and using it. If the dash had the factory LED guages, it would read a little on them..but since it uses the pressure switch, flip a coin..same result.
