Different GM weatherstrip quality L&R

Going to do all the weatherstrips in my car this year before my NOS stuff goes bad in the box. The main roof weatherstripping on the left side is the look and feel that GM should be, the right is heavier, stiffer, and lumpier than it should be. It was all purchased from the GM dealer I work at, at the same time, circa 2005-6. Has anyone seen variances in GM stuff or did someone ship back an aftermarket seal and I got shafted with it? It was a factory sealed box when I got it. One of the TFW guys that was here over the winter pointed it out to me, said it looks like the aftermarket stuff they used and the inconsistent texture at the joint areas (lumps and hard spots) make it not seal worth a damn.
