Horribly Expensive???
In response to Terry K:
Terry, I honestly appreciate your opinion but I think the statement "Horribly Expensive" was a bit harsh and ignorant.
Now before you get all bent out of shape because I said "Ignorant" let's define it.
Webster New Collegiate Dictionary definces "Ignorant" as:
1. Lacking knowledge or Comprehension of the thing specified.
2. Unaware or Uninformed
Taking into consideration that you may have No Idea what it costs to build an automotive component from scratch and to have that component work flawlessly, fit properly, and be asthetically pleasing in the intended application, The statement "Horribly Expensive" is without question Ignorant. I could say using a $1200 High Performance Ball Bearing Turbo on a 12 second Grocery Getter with a stock intercooler and injectors is "Horribly Expensive", but I would never do that. What would be "Horribly Expensive" is having to replace an engine because you had no idea your oil pressure had gone away and you were depending on an "Idiot Light" that doesn't activate until you're down to 5psi to warn you. I haven't met one GN/TR owner yet that buys a bone stocker and upgrades everything all at once. Most GN/TR owners upgrade in steps and purchasing a GNX Style dash is just another one of the steps some owners take to protect all the high dollar parts they've already aquired. EVERYTHING for the GN/TR is expensive. It's the nature of our beloved Beast and every GN/TR knows that going in or is soon educated in that fact when the Power Master brakes die or you upgrade the Turbo.
Most owners of a GNX style dash see it as an investment in their car. I've built 100+ dash upgrades ranging from $400 to $2000 and have NEVER had one person say it wasn't worth every dime they spent. It's true the world over, "You get what you pay for!".
I do what I can, when I can, to help make a GNX style dash affordable for ALL GN/TR owners that want this upgrade. It totally gets me off when a customer of mine sends me a picture of themselves and their car with one of my dashes in it. Countless happy customer emails keep me building when a shrinking, tight fisted economy tells me I should quit. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've never met one Millionaire GN/TR Vendor. We all do what we do to help support a small community we love. So, if a GNX style dash or any other GN/TR product isn't something you're interested in or can afford that's fine. Just don't comment on it or slap a label of "Horribly Expensive" on it until you've done your homework.
If the statement I've made above offends anyone I sincerely apologize. It's not intended to humiliate anyone specifically, just educate readers across the board.
