Direct Scan and old laptop

got an old laptop with Windows 95 laying around...is it a good candidate for directscan?

Absolutely. DScan was written to run in DOS mode with direct access to the parallel port. Win95 supports this (as does Win98).

You can run DScan on a newer machine (like Win2K) but you need to boot it in DOS mode before running DScan. I use a bootable diskette on my Win2K laptop.
