...a FWD Buick 3.8? A friend is wanting to do a swap in his rock crawler.

Thanks

I know the 2.5, 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4 RWD models all use the same trans bolt pattern. It's a 60 degree block. What's your friends rock crawler? Jeep? S-10?

It used to be a Jeep lol.
It's got a 4 banger in there now and he was told that a 60 degree V6 would bolt up to the trans. We would like to put a 3.8 in it:biggrin:

We'd like to take the oe efi system and make it all work. He wants to go with an obd2 system...I said stick with the old stuff (circa turbo buick era) b/c I know it hehe

If the current engine is the tried and true 2.5 liter "Iron Duke", then yes a 60 degree block would work. The S-10's of the 80's used the same trans on the 2.5 and 2.8 models, only the 4.3 liter had a different style bell housing.

I don't know if a 3.8 would work or not.

I have been told a 3.4 out of a 93-95 Camaro will work.
