I picked up an 87 GN thats in relatively rough condition. The rear wheel well trim looks to be showing through in many areas to the metal underneath, as are the door handles and door locks. They basically look like regular Regal pieces that were painted black. What do you guys think - repainted regal pieces?

The car does show WE2 on the RPO code so it is a real GN.

Wheel well trim and door handle are OEM, you're spot on being rough. But after nearly 40 years of neglect and weather beaten that problem occurs.

OK so it is normal for them to lose their paint like this then? I was just wondering if maybe at some point they were replaced with regular regal chrome pieces that were painted over. I was going to order a set of black replacements online.

I am about to replace my orginal wheel well trim as I bought new replacements years ago, and in looking at my old, dinged up originals, the factory set doesn't show any chrome coming through like in your pics. I'm pretty sure yours are painted over, chrome pieces. same with the handle. These cars are now 38+ years old, and a LOT of pieces have been switched out over the years. I just saw replacements on Ebay for $159, not sure on the quality, but if others can chime in here if you bought them, that'll be appreciated for sure. I've been out of the TR scene for awhile, but trying to catch up on what I 'use' to know. Hope this helps...

The front fender well trims do not show through like the rear one, so I feel it was replaced with a regular regal one a while ago.

I am also looking at the 4 piece set for $159 on Ebay - anyone have feedback on those?

Also how are the ebay bumper fillers or $100?

And black door handles for $22?

I personally would explore well known vendors when purchasing bumper fillers, I would recommend Spoolfool one piece fillers, Goodlark and Gbodyparts.com

They were never "painted" to begin with. That stuff you have appears to be what you said it may be.. Regular Real trim painted black.
